Evergreen Stats

Monitor the ongoing performance of your evergreen (recurring) campaigns, with the ability to explore detailed statistics for each scheduled run. Evergreen campaigns execute automatically on a schedule, sending to contacts who match your criteria at each run time. This page helps you track how each run performs and identify trends across your recurring campaigns.

Navigate to Statistics → Evergreen Stats to access evergreen campaign statistics.

Understanding Evergreen Performance

Run-to-Run Comparison

Since evergreen campaigns run repeatedly, comparing metrics across runs reveals important patterns:

  • Consistent open rates across runs suggest stable list quality and continued interest in your content
  • Declining open rates over time may indicate audience fatigue or that your content needs refreshing
  • Varying contact counts between runs show how your list is growing or shrinking, or how your targeting criteria match different numbers of contacts over time
  • Sudden spikes in unsubscribes on a particular run warrant investigating what was different about that run's content or timing

Audience Dynamics

Unlike one-time broadcasts, evergreen campaigns send to contacts who match criteria at run time:

  • New contacts added to targeted lists will receive the next run
  • Contacts who have already received the evergreen (depending on your settings) may be excluded from future runs
  • Changes to list membership or segment criteria affect who receives each run
  • The Contacts count changing between runs is normal and expected as your audience evolves

Best Practices

Monitoring Recurring Campaigns

  • Review runs regularly to ensure the evergreen is executing on schedule and reaching the expected audience size
  • Compare engagement across runs to identify if certain days, times, or content variations perform better
  • Watch for declining metrics over multiple runs, which may indicate it's time to refresh content or adjust targeting
  • Check the Skipped count - if it grows significantly over time, you may be re-targeting contacts who've already received the campaign

Optimizing Performance

  • Refresh content periodically - even recurring campaigns benefit from updated subject lines and content to maintain engagement
  • Adjust timing based on data - if certain runs consistently perform better, consider adjusting your schedule
  • Segment your audience - create more targeted evergreens for different audience segments rather than one broad campaign
  • Review unsubscribe patterns - high unsubscribes from evergreens often indicate frequency issues
